How To Create An App Like Zalora

Install Swipecart to start using it. It is available on the Shopify app store and WordPress plugin center. You'll be taken to the dashboard after signing up for Swipecart.

Click on "Layouts" in the left menu of your Swipecart dashboard.

Next, click on the "Create Layout" icon to create a new layout.

Clicking on “Create Layout” will open a popup. Name the layout "Zalora" and click on "Create".

Now, Swipecart allows you to choose between pre-made layout templates and a blank layout. Since we need to design an app like Zalora, we choose "Blank Layout". Now, click "Create Layout."

You'll be taken to the Zalora layout dashboard with the default tab as "Theme Settings" and the sub-tab as "App Bar Settings". The theme settings allow you to set the theme and customize it for your brand.

App Bar Settings: Set your branding element on the app bar or the action bar because it stays on the top throughout all pages of your app. Here, we upload the Zalora logo to customize the app bar. For more details on app bar settings,click here.

We then go to Side Menu Settings, Bottom Bar Settings, Profile Page Settings, and Input Style Settings. Here, we select our choice from the style variants and save it to the app.

Theme Style Settings: In this section, we set the theme for the app. The changes made here are reflected throughout the app.

We can change some of the styling parameters for the app's theme such as app background color and font style & color. Click here to learn more about theme style settings on Swipecart.

Next, we move on to designing the Zalora app home screen. Click on the "Home" tab. A blank home screen is displayed with only the app bar and bottom bar.

We add content to the home screen by dragging and dropping style variants of widgets. These are accessible in the screen's drop-down box panel in the right section.

Renaming the home page: Hover over "Home" and click on the edit icon on the Home tab.

Once you click the edit icon, an "Edit Page" popup opens. Rename the Home page as "Women". Click on "Submit".

Adding a new page: Locate the 'Add page' button on the left of the home screen layout. Now click on it.

An "Add Page" popup opens. Ensure the "Add As A New Page In Home" toggle switch is on.

Name the page "Men" and click on the "Submit" button

Collection Slider: We first start by populating the "Women" tab with content. Let's start with a collection slider.

Select "Collection Slider" from the widget list. Different styled widgets are displayed just below the drag-and-drop box. From here, we select a round collection slider and drag and drop it to the Women tab screen.

To add content to the collection slider, hover over the widget and click on "Add/Edit Content". In the popup, add all relevant collection categories from the collection list to the slider.

To set the styling for the collection slider, hover again over it and click on "Edit Style". In the popup that opens, set the styling parameters to suit the brand.

Carousel Banner: These are banners in rotating or slideshow format. You can add diverse information in them ranging from offers, product-specific discounts, new launches, and many more.

Select "Carousel Banner" from the widget list. Place one among the style variants inside the home screen layout.

To add images to the banner, click on "Add/Edit Content". In the popup that opens, add images and link them to relevant products, collection categories, other app pages, or external website links.

Set the styling elements for the banner through the "Edit Style" option. You can preview the changes you make during the editing on the "Edit Style" popup itself.

Add one more carousel banner to the "Women" tab of the Zalora app by repeating the above-mentioned steps.

Product Slider: To display specific products on the home screen, select "Product Slider" from the widget list. Place one among the style variants inside the home screen.

Add products to the slider from the product list through the "Add/Edit Content" option. Set the styling elements for the slider through the "Edit Style" option.

Single Banner: It is used to highlight attractive schemes like discounts, sales, new product launches, or flash deals on the app. You can showcase any attractive product or collection category here.

Select "Single Banner" from the widget list. From among the different style variants offered by Swipecart, select one and place it on the app's home screen.

Add collection categories to the banner from the collection list through the "Add/Edit Content" option. Set the styling elements for the banner through the "Edit Style" option. Don't forget to give an attractive title to the widget.

Banner Grid: Opt for a banner grid widget when you want to display banners in a grid format. Highlight any interesting collection or product through this widget.

To place a banner grid on the app's home screen, select "Banner Grid" from the widget list. Place one from among the variants on the home screen.

Adding visual images to the banner and linking them to relevant collection categories or products is the same as we have done for other widgets on Swipecart. Customize the banner grid through the "Edit Style" option.

We again insert a single banner on the Zalora app's home screen.

Banner Slider: A slight variation to the style of displaying banners on the app's home screen is the banner slider. Here, the banners are shown in a slider format.

As usual, place a banner slider variant of your choice on the app's home screen.

Once completed, your Zalora app will look like this with the banner slider widget on it.

Similarly, you can try placing other widgets, including the search bar, collection grid, product grid, product list, and timer on the app's home screen as per your requirement.

We have completed populating the "Women" tab on the app's home screen. Similarly, add visual content and widgets to the other pages of the app.
